Pic Saint-Loup Appellation
Château de Cazeneuve
The vineyard Château de Cazeneuve is located in the heart of Pic Saint-Loup (department of Herault) which is a controlled appellation of origin (AOC). In this area, a mosaic of soils paves the way for unusual aromatic expressions. They are expressed through a symphony of scents, fruit, garrigue and spices. The climate bestows great freshness, elegance and a special fineness upon the wines produced.
The estate was abandoned to its fate and André Leenhardt purchased it in 1990. He uprooted vines and replanted grape varieties (Syrah, Mourvedre), while 80% of the vineyard is less than 25 years old. Our winegrower believes that giving attention to the soil can only be a carrier of quality grapes, and in turn, of quality wine.
Château de Cazeneuve wines are referenced in the wine lists of some of the best gastronomic restaurants of France, such as La Maison Troisgros in Roanne, Paul Bocuse's L'Auberge du Pont de Collonges in Collonges-au-Mont-d'Or and L'Arnsbourg in Baerenthal. Moreover, they are regularly quoted in the Hachette guide.
