Cumières, in the heart of the country of Champagne and the Vallée de la Marne, it is in this typical Champenois village that for over two centuries, Champagne Philippe Martin develops its wines in the utmost respect of a tradition passed down from father to son on 9 generations.
The vineyard, located mainly on hillsides facing south, covers 10 ha.
Three great champagne grape varieties are collected : Chardonnay, Pinot Black and Pinot Meunier, subtly assembled to provide champagnes of exceptionnal quality, resting for many years in chalk cellars.

The Essential - Major Champagne of the House Philippe Martin, prepared form Pinot Meunier from Vallée de la Marne de Verneuil, Pinot Black de Cumières, enhanced by Chardonnays Vitry le François, representative of the vineyard. The Pinot Meunier brings roundness to this vintage.
Stemming from the assembly of three champenois vines, from three different harvest: 2012, 2013 and 2014.
A pale golden tint with light pink reflections, clear, with a nice effervescence. A fine and continuous cord with a rising of tiny bubbles on surface.
The initial impression on the nose is discreet, opening on notes of candied plums, fresh fruits and orange zests.
The attack on the palate is direct with fruity notes reminding the nose.
A pleasant final with a slight bitterness of plum jam.

The main part - A nice champagne issued exclusively from the vineyard 1 er Cru Cunières and Hautvillers.
35% of Chardonnay, 50% of Pinot Noir with a slight touch of Pinot Meunier (15%). 50% of reserve wines and 50% of wine from 2012.
A pale golden tint with slight green tints, the wine is sparking, the effervescence nice and continuous, creamy in the mouth.
Nose of great finesse, fruity, flowery, with floral notes of hawthorn, rose and violet with notes of white flesh fruits (pear, peach), typical of Chardonnay. There are some notes of red fruits, rather representative of Pinot Noir. The nose opens on notes of tobacco, candied fruit, dry hay, dry fruits, showing notes of positive evolution.
The attack on the palate is nice, fresh, powerful, with a mix of red fruits and white flesh fruits. A fresh, generous wine with a balanced palate, well constitued by the Pinot Noir.
